The Backstage Pass

Actionable ways to build a 10K+ member community in a year

Building a community of 10,000 community builders, and sharing everything I do — what works, what doesn't, and why — along the way. After only a few weeks, we're already over 1,100 members who are learning the tools to build their own communities.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 Very excited to launch The Backstage Pass today! And huge shoutout to @kevin for hunting the project! The BSP is a newsletter focused on extreme transparency that teaches you how to build a community. I share action-oriented weekly updates with screencasts, spreadsheets, and openly discuss my own strategies — while also delivering deep dives, original frameworks, and interviews with community building experts. We've grown to over 1,100 members in the first month since launch and my goal is to reach 10K members within the first year. We'll also be launching a community (we have an early Twitter DM pod right now) and other member-only perks throughout the year. Community is a hot topic, but a lot of discussion about it (and a lot of newsletters in general) is high-level and theoretical. I don't shy aware from sharing failures about what doesn't work — you'll see it all through the newsletter. I'm excited to answer any questions you have about what to expect over the next year and beyond! Can't wait for you to join 😊
