The Founder Hotline

Hey Product Hunt community 👋 I'm KP, community builder, podcaster and currently the Program Director at Day One. In the last 2 years, I've spoken to thousands of entrepreneurs and I've observed a widespread problem. Most founders are bottling up mental health challenges and struggles. Partly because they assume they need to fake it till they make it & partly because they don’t have access to the right network of people around them who can advise, guide and help in an affordable way. This is an ecosystem-wide problem that we believe is worth giving a shit about. So we're launching a new free initiative called The Founder Hotline, a retro radio-style live call-in show where founders from anywhere in the world could call in (anonymously or with their real names) to share what they are struggling with in a safe and empathetic environment. Founders are encouraged to call in and ask the questions "on air" that they would never ask in a Fireside chat or surface the topics and personal struggles that they would never bring up in a fancy AMA. Topics like mental health, co-founder conflicts, layoffs, market volatility will be addressed. We’re joined by the amazing folks at OpenPhone as a tech partner & co-sponsor. We're doing a "Season 1" which we're announcing on Product Hunt today and will go live through August and September 2022 with 10 hand-picked guests who will join us as Special Guests and discuss mental health challenges and will offer answers to our callers. The live show and questions will be hosted by me and loosely moderated by the Day One team. The show will be aired on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-12pm ET. It is free for anyone to call in or send their questions through via email if they can’t make the call-in time. In fact, the 1st episode will be live at 11am ET today so join us! The concept sounds creative and innovative, especially for founders to ask about operational and growth issues. Having said that, how can you properly address real mental health challenges, without having someone professionally trained to handle those questions?

In nearly two years of building the Day One community and getting to know the hundreds and hundreds of founders with whom we've crossed paths - one theme has come through loud and clear. Founders crave support, advice, and community. It's a hard path, lonely at times, and full of decisions you didn't even know you had to make.
