Serverless Cloud is quite the tool for builders.
Been using it for 3 months now and honestly impressed by how smooth and efficient it is for prototyping and scaling apps, fast.
I was hooked the moment I discovered you could use SC to really focus on the business logic, without having to put much thought into complicated configuration procedures (goodbye .yaml!).
The CLI is intuitive and eases testing a lot, and the dashboard has a stright-to-the-point design while including some very useful features that allow for testing, monitoring and deployment.
I have built 4 apps now with SC, and it seems like the team behind really listened and acted upon the feedback that came after the Serverless Framework. The community is already strong so I'm confident they'll keep iterating this product + start including way more integrations with third-party apps (that are much needed!).
Highly recommend Serverless Cloud for builders of any kind, startups and bigger companies as well.
I've spun up necessary microservices for a new and experimental app using Serverless Cloud in 3 days. Not 3 days full time, rather 3 days in middle of tons of other meetings (I have about 6 hours of meetings on a typical work day since my main job is product related and not programming). Maintaining the services and expanding on them have been a breeze so far (again, as a side thing in middle of tons of other stuff I have to do on a daily basis). I think that speaks to the power of this platform on its own.
It is exceedingly easy to use, it has a pragmatic "batteries included" mindset targeting specifically prototypes and early-stage projects, with a super friendly and supportive team rolling out useful new features rapidly. Like any other new platform, it lacks features for later-stage projects and services, but personally I have confidence in the team and their ability to grow the platform alongside their customers.
They have a very weird pricing (often expensive). The infrastructure deployed by this framework will cost you less than their cost.
Eg, Serverless Stack in AWS has usage based pricing, but you will have to serverless.com based on how many such infras you set up, which does not make any sense.
As soon as I learned about "Serverless Cloud" - I immediately realized that this is what many developers were looking for. What should be in the modern era of technology and automation. Now you do not need to do the same things every time - setting up the entire complex architecture, and then maintaining it, taking care of security, reviewing and connecting newer and often complex solutions. Now Serveless Cloud does it all for us, providing the essentials and best practices right out of the box. The developer only needs to write the code.
I believe that the importance of this project is difficult to overestimate. As for me, this is at the level of Elon Musk's projects. This is what changes our world, makes it better.
Having tried Serverless Cloud on several projects, I got a very pleasant experience. It is also very valuable that there is live feedback from the developers, they quickly respond and help in solving problems. Despite the fact that the project was still in the "live preview" stage, I was not afraid to use it in production, and did not regret it. Everything is done qualitatively and responsibly.
Really cool product, came across this the other week and tested it out for a personal project, documentation is good and the examples are really helpful.
I have bene using Serverless cloud for a little while now. I don't think there is anything like it on the market right now. It's made it incredibly easy to spin up a full stack application, it's backed by AWS and the database is powered by Dynamo DB, it's fast both in terms of request performance and the developer experience.
Want an API? Want a DB? Wand an SDK connecting the two together? Just bring your own functions :P
I imagine serverless cloud will be sufficient for many applications, and I am sure as heck using it to build my first SaaS. The support received via the slack community has been invaluable and I only see this product and the community growing. It has just saved me so much time!
This is one of those products that I wish existed when I was a freelance developer, it would have made my life so much easier. Now, as a Developer of a much more advanced platform, Serverless Cloud has been a dream to work with. I cannot recommend Serverless Cloud enough.
I'm using Serverless Cloud since it was on Private Beta. I can clearly say as a summary: It is the best serverless product I've ever tested.
Are you developing an API? There is no need to set up or think about DB, Storage, CRON. You are just writing your code :D All other things are just an "import" away. If you want to serve front-end projects or just static files Serverless Clouds handles it too.
Deploying and developing is very fast. You can deploy your application just in seconds. If you are using Serverless Cloud, you are literally only thinking about your functions.
I spent a long time getting to grips with serverless before I found Serverless Cloud, and it's a real game changer. Serverless Cloud takes away the learning curve and leaves all the benefits; it's incredibly easy to get a project up an running without any AWS nightmares.
The support is fantastic, whenever I've had an issue I'm able to easily get in touch with a member of the team and they are always willing to take the time to address it and offer advice.
Highly recommend!
