This product is a hard no for me. While it may have been intended to be useful to understand company hierarchies, it was not planned well. The platform often includes incredibly outdated and inaccurate information, which renders it invaluable to their target audience who have to double check other sources. Creating organizational charts through data scraping raises some serious ethical and legal questions. This reliance on potentially sensitive, non-public data can compromise the privacy of organizations and their employees who did not consent to their information being shared. Making these "charts" so accessible leaves companies vulnerable to phishing attacks, as bad actors could easily use this information to target employees. This creates a false sense of security, making it easier for scams to slip through the cracks.
I recently discovered The Org and Vision while exploring full-time opportunities. Kudos to the team on the successful launch and the seamless design!
From a recent grad's perspective, it's a game-changer for networking. While it was still free to me, I utilized Vision's contact features to connect with 8 execs through cold emails. While I understand the primary focus is sales, it's a fantastic tool for job and internship seekers too.
Have you thought about offering a free version or a discount for students, perhaps verified through a .edu email? It could be a huge hit among us recent grads and college students mindful of costs.
Very easy to use and solves the headache that is building and maintaining an org chart. The public org chart is very useful for recruiting and employer branding so that candidates can see who their colleagues will be.
