Description

In Piloteer, a whimsical and serenely challenging physics-based game about learning to fly, a renowned inventor is determined to overcome the stigma associated with flying a jetpack and convince the world that jetpacks should be revered by all.

Blending elements of both physics and trick-based games, players will need to maneuver their state-of-the-art jetpack through the skies while completing a myriad of increasingly difficult missions to change public perceptions.

Players will find themselves immersed in a wholly integrated physics simulation, making the beautiful world around them feel dynamic, unpredictable, and alive.

Ridiculous failure is imminent in Piloteer, making the accomplishments along the way feel all the more rewarding. Put on your jetpack and take to the skies!

Editors’ Notes

Strap on a jetpack and soar—right until you lose control and come crashing down to earth. In Piloteer, learning to fly isn’t just hard; it’s nearly impossible. But it’s so obsessively fun, we can’t stop tackling new goals like launching through hoops or landing on a hot-dog stand. Nailing each stunt feels immensely rewarding, and we never get tired of watching the crazy ragdoll physics every time your character somersaults to the ground.

Addictive, twitchy, and somehow serene

Lovely paper art style with relaxing music backdrop a game where milliseconds make the difference between success and horrible jet pack crash. And you will crash. Repeatedly. Because gravity, momentum, and the frailness of the human body are your greatest adversaries, not to mention the how off-balance you are. The simple two-thumb controls are as intuitive as your pack is unwieldy, and the game pushes you to fly through a series of timed challenges that steadily but fairly increase in difficulty through the campaign. After each failure, you can retry instantly, and the cycle of repeated attempts lulls you into a zen-like state as you slowly improve. This is a game that is difficult to learn and perhaps impossible to master, but easy to keep playing after each failure, because you know you need just one more chance. Or two. Or fifty.

Great if you take the time

Like most games, you get better the more you play and practice. This is no different. However the beginning is really frustrating and tough to gauge how to even fly at all. If you stick with it, though, it’s very rewarding and has very attainable missions, and a second, harder game mode that is also super fun once you really know how to maneuver your guy. I played this for about 5 hours over 3 days and beat it 100%.

Absolutely recommend.
