Description
Winner of Apple Design Awards 2015!
A strategic driving game from the award-winning maker’s of Smash Hit. Does not Commute is a temporal paradox in which you have no one to blame but yourself. What starts out as a relaxing commute in a small town of the 1970's quickly devolves into traffic chaos with hot dog trucks, sports cars, school buses and dozens of other vehicles. You drive them all. Plan ahead. Don't be late.
In this small town, discover the characters and their secrets – what world-changing experiment is inventive dentist Dr Charles Schneider hiding? Will Mr Baker quit his job in advertising? What is that strange mask on Mrs Griffin's face? Will Mr Mayfield’s peculiar obsession with Yorkshire Terriers take over his life?
Does Not Commute is playable at no cost and free from ads. An optional premium upgrade is available through a one-time in-app purchase that will enable the ability to continue from checkpoints.

From the makers of Smash Hit comes this frantic, funny, Apple Design Award–winning mashup of strategy and path management. The premise is simple: drive from point A to point B, then restart with a new driver while avoiding a collision with the car you just drove. Each ride gives a short insight into the person behind the wheel, and the characters’ drama and entanglements play out like a darkly hysterical soap opera.
Back to the START!!!!
Does not Commute is one of the funnest and nice-looking games. It is so fun and difficult. But the beautiful graphics and chuckle-worthy anecdotes about the characters you play as are all insignificant compared to...
Starting over. Running out of time results in the hefty price of going to read the old stories and play the same section. I’ve got as far as the fourth, but it takes skill to continue.
Aside from the starting over, the graphics, gameplay and sentences allow for hours of (repetitive) gameplay. Worth a download, and I can’t believe it’s free! Some developers would charge for this. Great game. Yeah.
One of the only good mobile games I’ve seen
This game works very well with the whole touchscreen thing and it has a very high skill ceiling, where you can always plan just a little more or take a slightly straighter line or rewind just a little less and get a higher score.
The fact that you can play the whole game without paying for it is a smart move (I’m not sure about ads because I paid for it instantly) but if there are still ads, then that makes the unpaid game more of an arcade game, where you try again and again for a high score and pay for it as you go by watching ads, but if you pay for it, it’s more of a story driven game with a satisfying ending, but you can still experience that without paying for it with enough skill
Absolutely stacks up with console/pc games
