What is Amazon Day Delivery?

Amazon Day Delivery is a delivery option exclusively available for Prime members to pick their own delivery day at checkout. Items ordered with Amazon Day Delivery will be delivered on the day you select. No additional membership is needed. This delivery option can be used on as many or as few purchases as you like.

When should I use Amazon Day Delivery?

Amazon Day Delivery might be a good option for you if you're going on a trip and want to have your trip essentials waiting at your destination by the time you arrive. Or maybe you want to pick a delivery day based on your work from home schedule. It's also a great choice when you plan ahead for gifting, place the order today and get it next week when you need it.

How do I use Amazon Day Delivery?

Just select the Amazon Day Delivery option at checkout when placing your order. If the date shown does not work for you, click "Change day" to choose a different day to receive your order. Sometimes, this option is preselected for you at checkout based on the items in your cart or your previously indicated preferences. You can make Amazon Day Delivery your preferred delivery option or save a preferred day of the week for future orders so you can be defaulted to this option at Checkout whenever it is available for your order. You can always opt for the faster Prime delivery options for eligible orders if needed.

Why is Amazon offering this delivery option?

In addition to offering customers the convenience of picking their own delivery day, this option allows Amazon more time to find an optimal delivery route which usually leads to fewer deliveries. It also helps reduce the number of boxes used for shipping. In the last 12 months, Amazon Day users saved 136 million boxes.

Are all items eligible for Amazon Day?

Most items that are eligible for Prime Delivery and are shipped by Amazon can be shipped with Amazon Day Delivery. If you see the Amazon Day Delivery option at Checkout, it means the items in your order are eligible for this delivery option.

Will my Amazon Day orders arrive in a single box?

We ship your orders in a single box whenever possible. Sometimes we deliver items in separate boxes based on where items are located, item weight and dimensions, or delivery capacity. However, Amazon Day deliveries use 30% fewer boxes.

I recently placed an Amazon Day Delivery order, but instead of arriving on the day I had chosen, my order arrived early. Why?

We may deliver orders early especially during high-volume events like Prime Day or during severe weather conditions. Orders that have a high likelihood of arriving a day early will often display the message “Some orders may arrive a day early” at checkout.
