Do you have a certain skill that you could monetize? Other than the one you use in your current job.

It can be anything but I suppose, that hobbies are more significant activities that could come to your mind first. For example, in my case, it was photography and sports (used to have it as a paid job). WBY?

Interesting! Do you use that in your current work? It was my hobby for many years to write, before it led to publishing my first book and also projects like www.Firstbook.ai 📖 I like the idea that you can monetize your hobbies.

@casper_brix so I suppose you like writing, right? When I think about that. I like writing (also as a kid I wrote a lot) and turned it to copywriting then. As for my hobbies – yes – photography – I take pics on social media or take pics of interiors occasionally for clients. Sports – I decided to not instruct/lecture people anymore. I did it 4 or 5 years back.

@casper_brix @busmark_w_nika Copywriting is an interesting one and seems to be picking up speed in the online biz space as of late. Nika in your experience what separates someone who is able to charge high ticket for copywriting vs the average copywriter?

@casper_brix @yukioyama I think the biggest difference is who has the COURAGE to ask for large sums. :D But a good portfolio of work can convince me. E.G. when I contributed to Forbes and articles got over a hundred thousand readers per month, it was quite a result. But then I decided to work on my projects :D ups :D

@busmark_w_nika How do you recommend for someone to get started writing for bigger senders like Forbes?

I don't have a monetizable hobby other than making web projects 😅 But that's fine because this way I can keep doing my hobbies just for fun 😊

Felix Scholz
@busmark_w_nika Oh, it's not that I couldn't, but I already have multiple ways of monetizing skills so I really want to keep my hobbies just for fun - they are here to give me a break from working after all

Yuki
@fscholz I do think web projects is a monetizable hobby! Just need to figure out how to sell it!

@fscholz aaa, understand... and see... when I need to monetize some activity and have results... I am also like: I do not like this activity anymore. :D so got it. :D

Yes, I have it, but it a little bit difficult to monetize. My hobby is science, I'm doing my PhD right now and I'm in love with teaching young students! But if' you don't do it like your job, it's actually hard to gain money. Also I know Italian and I think that I'd like to find a couple of students and give private lessons!

@boris_moris44 This one is really hard :D especially in our country, science is not enough paid job :D which is sad. But your skills are useful. Polyglot? 👀
Boris Markarian
@busmark_w_nika Aahha, that's true. Not Poly, but a little bit glot)). I'd like to teach lobbying and GR (my major) more than Italian. I think it's more interesting. What about you?

@boris_moris44 I do not find myself as a polyglot. Know 3 languages, 2 are in the process of learning and the last one I used to learn at high school. But wouldn't say about my language skills that I am a kind of language genius :D

@boris_moris44 I know someone who's making close to 300k annually teaching korean! definitely possible to make a solid living out of teaching Italian Boris!

@busmark_w_nika @boris_moris44 also Boris, if you'd be interested in driving leads for Italian lessons through YouTube, Smartrazor (launched today) might help ya to that ;)

I love building Wordpress websites (as I did for out company www.hoggo.io) but I don't do it for a living. Also I really enjoy learning new stuff and I guess I could open a channel/newsletter and monetize that too haha

Business Marketing with Nika
@noa_kahalon I think that WP builders still have some job :) so you probably would have some hustles :)

Absolutely, I've discovered that my knack for storytelling and content creation, which I initially developed as a hobby, can be incredibly valuable for businesses looking to enhance their brand's presence online. It's amazing how skills cultivated outside of our primary professions can open up new avenues for growth and revenue.

I've always loved making hand-drawing with pencil and one of my main dream after being financially free is to live of art like doing things like this or playing piano

@gionata_capasso Wow, do you have a talent for both? music and drawing? I also like sketching or something related to graphic visuals but as for music. I am totally off :D

gionata capasso
@busmark_w_nika No r drawing a way better than music as well ahah I would like also to make more art projects with AI cause i love it and i see a lot of opportunities for the future. Especially in the videomaking area

@gionata_capasso Videos are quite time-consuming now for creation but I have seen some made by AI and some of them are great examples of how easily we can replicate people 1 : 1. Society will be having problems with deep fakes :D ups

I do some painting on weekends but I mostly gift them to my friends or paint on ikea boxes.. I've thought about monetizing my hobby through streaming or YT but I find the setup too tedious

@jagriti_kumar what do you paint the most? Or the fave painter you have? :-)

I've always had a knack for graphic design, which I've used for personal projects and friends' businesses. It could be a fun side hustle.

@suzaneandersoon do you have your graphic samples publicly available on the internet? :)
Yuki
@suzaneandersoon Had the exact same thought! Love to do graphic design for fun, and I grew up drawing all day (anime, dinosaurs, amongst many other things). I also did all the UI/design for Smartrazor which I launched today! Would appreciate your feedback Suzane!

If I had to bank on one skill to monetize outside of my current job it would probably be design! I'm not great at it, but I think if I spent 3 months working on my craft I could get to a workable point w freelancing! Rate my design for https://www.producthunt.com/post... assets btw!

I have a pretty extensive background in quantitative finance that I don't use much anymore. Which is to say — more data science than my current work.
