How are you looking to get your first customers?

When we launched Vidyard, our most important activity was to talk with potential customers and translate those conversations into trials and eventually, sales. Personalized cold emails were my only productive channel for growth. From there, we learned the nuances of messaging, demand gen, social and inbound marketing. Those channels took a long time to be productive and so without outbound, we would have failed. How are you finding / acquiring your first paying customers? What's the approach? P.S. Implementing personalized outbound is still a huge challenge for many founders and sellers today, so we’re launching something in this space next week!

one of the best channels at one of the companies we worked for was definitely cold outbound. Getting first customers was all about founder led sales (LI dms and emails) Where we started running into issues was attempting to scale beyond that. We followed a standard playbook with hiring a full team of BDRs and AEs only to have it fall flat. For founders who may have some early traction, what are the activities they should focus on after getting their initial customers?

The first customers I hope to get through PH. Also, I develop my personal brand on social networks and will definitely use a network of personal contacts.
