Screenshoss is a small, free, and open-source screenshot shelf for macOS. It catches your screenshots, keeps them off the Desktop, and makes them available from the notch whenever you need them. Quickly see, organise, and reuse your captures without digging through folders or maintaining another complicated system. It is local-first and deliberately simple. Not a full asset manager, just one less daily hassle.

Hello Hunters 🙋🏻♂️
There are many ambitious and genuinely useful products launched here every day.
Screenshoss is a smaller one.
I built it because screenshots had slowly become part of my daily chaos.
I use them to capture ideas, save references, share things, and remember something for later. But by the end of the day, they are usually scattered across my desktop.
I tried folders, naming systems, and different organisation methods. Eventually, each one became another place where screenshots disappeared.
So I built Screenshoss.
It lives in your Mac’s notch, automatically catches your screenshots, and gives you one place to see, organise, find, and use them.
Screenshoss is completely free and open source.
I don’t expect it to transform the way you work. My hope is that it saves you a few minutes, reduces frustration, and makes one small part of your day easier.
That would already make building it worthwhile.
I’d be grateful to hear what you think, what feels unnecessary, and what could make it more useful.
