All the work you need to do before launch! Even though people talk about it regularly in the community, many newcomers don't know about it and launch as soon as they join Product Hunt. As a result, they get worse results compared to what they could get if they prepared in advance. By the way, we've launched today and would be glad to hear your opinion on our product! πŸ™ producthunt.com/posts/steerer

@michaelshver That's an excellent suggestion Michael. Would love to learn what would be some of these things or work that should be done in advance.

@amit_arora fom our yesterday's experience, we noticed that the best way to gain upvotes is to write to people directly! So the more contacts you have, the higher chance you have to get featured. Also, the more time you spend on PH, the more contacts you gain. The more people become familiar with your face and want to support you, even if they're not your target audience. So, being active and helpful in discussions and on others' launches helps a lot (just being here without activity won't give you that.) If you have a team of people who can all invest their time into developing their profiles, that will be attached to the product, it will also be better than promoting only one. If you can build communities on LinkedIn, X, or other social media, it can also be really helpful to write a post about your launch. However, the most traction still comes from direct connections. It's also really important to invest a lot of time into notifying everyone on the day of the launch. So, you need to be prepared to send messages all day to every contact you have. Another thing is that the more time you give to it, the more you get. We spent a couple of months on preparations, but now see that, with our niche product, we probably should have spent more time to get more traction. SaaS products for entrepreneurs, marketers, and developers certainly get traction easier here.

@zaryat nice, any idea how these names are selected?

@amit_arora Star with the ideas you want the name to convey and run them through a thesaurus. Pick some of these (or their modifications) as names and then test them out with your audience..simples!
