However, don't just say hi, have something to offer or check out what they've been doing and see if there's a connection. I like congratulating people on their achievements.

Social media is essential, it's the first place customers go to get support and updates. It is also a channel for brand expression you might not be able to do on a website or ad such as your brand voice and values.
