What's your least favorite part of UX optimization?
UX optimization isn't easy. Everyone struggles with it. I have a feeling we all experience slightly different struggles though. If you could wave a magic wand and improve any part of the UX optimization process, what would you change?

This is a frog in boiling water type of scenario. You can't just jump into doing it. That will lead to immediate burnout because you aren't used to it. Instead slowly increase the amount of time you work daily until you are working that much. I will say this, if you don't absolutely have to do it, then you shouldn't. It can have a negative impact on health as well as your relationships with...

I use daily and weekly tasks, then I measure productivity by the number of tasks that I completed. I also make a point of no more than 3 tasks make each list(daily/weekly). This way I'm not putting unrealistic pressure on myself
How do you measure your productivity?

You can't take it personally. Tens of thousands of companies apply to YC, over a thousand get calls, and just over a hundred get invited to be part of a batch. It's not that they don't care, they just don't have the resources to give feedback to the tens of thousands of startups that apply.
Don't get it twisted though, for YC it is 100% about making money. Their core thesis is that by being...
I just got a rejection email from YC with no feedback and I am totally disappointed & heart broken!

Everyone here has some great suggestions, but I think your best bet is to leverage the fact that you're at Harvard, start local. Harvard and MIT both have a ton of aspiring entrepreneurs, as well as entrepreneur programs. You should be able to find Harvard's entrepreneur program fairly easily. Go ask the people that run the program if they know anyone that would be a great technical cofounder....

If I have a design, then I might hand it off to them. But usually I don't have a designer at first. Most times though, when I start a new project I'll use bootstrap and modify styling as needed

My first though on this is oh hell ya. I always have like 50 tabs open because I'm constantly context switching between different tasks and remembering which content I'm trying to keep in different windows is apparently impossible. Definitely going to give this a try!

Organize tabs. Split up your work. Switch between tasks.

Is there such thing as too high of a contrast between text and background?
We've been having an intense debate around color contrast and if there is such thing as too high of a contrast between text elements and their background. Help us resolve the debate, or if you have a strong opinion leave a message and add fuel to the fire!

I think they are essentially the same. An MVP doesn't need to be a piece of software, even if that's the ultimate goal. The YC process also assumes that you are an expert in the field of question and that you are 100% solving a problem that you have. For anything else you should talk to customers a ton before writing a single line of code, or producing a tangible product that you can hand to...

I have so many questions, mostly because it sounds like you might be falling into the same trap so many of us do our first time. My main question is have you validated this in the market yet? Because you should definitely do that before building anything. The other thing I would suggest is don't worry about scale. If this is your first time and you don't already have thousands of customers...

Help us understand the UX market!
Hey everyone! As the founder of Look-see I am exploring how we can improve user experience processes and help individuals and teams ensure that their product has a well executed experience before ever showing it to your users. If you could spare 5 minutes of your time to answer a quick 10 question survey it would really help us.

I highly suggest Kotlin over Java for Android development. They are both JVM languages, so anything Java can do so can Kotlin. Kotlin is less verbose though and I found I picked it up quite quickly because of how similar the syntax is to Java. Ultimately though, I suggest it because it's the chosen language for Android development and it's what Google suggests.
What are major advantages and disadvantages of using Kotlin over Java for Android Development?

When creating a new color palette for an online design or brand, do you consider white/black colors?
We have been having an ongoing debate among our team and it would be great if everyone could help us decide who's more right.
