About
Bruce Darling is a distinguished leader in the disability rights community. He co-founded and led the Center for Disability Rights (CDR) in Rochester, New York, as its President and CEO. Throughout his almost four decades of service, he has been deeply committed to advocating for the rights and independence of individuals with disabilities and ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources. Bruce's drive for advocacy stems from his own experiences as a neurodivergent individual in an educational system that was not well-equipped to handle diversity in learning needs. His mother, Norita, was instrumental in recognizing his unique needs & advocating for the accommodations that allowed him to excel. This personal journey through challenges fueled his passion for disability rights.
