My take: Serendipity online is more scalable, but real life can be deeper.
How do you feel about the serendipity of conversations at work, in a remote-first environment!

@phillips_m_g This is great. My team is working on a similar concept and I think what you're working on has potential. What's the data on which learning paths are easier for an individual? Do you set parameters based on their skill level or their personal behaviour? I'm assuming both. Good luck on your journey!

What's your definition of a non-technical founder?
When someone asks me, "Are you a technical founder?" I don't have a great answer.
First, I have a degree in humanities, not CS. I've self-taught code to be able to manage products and work with developers. I also design low to mid-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, while driving growth with marketers to hit those business metrics.
What's your definition of a non-technical...

Hey @dmitry_kalinchenko,
We got around 1600 first time customers for free on the day of the launch.
Method
1. Engaged in online communities that needed our product well before launch
2. Collected emails without spamming
3. Updated potential users consistently
4. Converted them on launch.
In my opinion, the biggest issue is always "retention", not acquisition.
Hope that helps.
How did you land your first customers?

Which partnership helped your product grow?
We work in a unique edtech space that most people aren't familiar with yet. That means more partnerships with schools and students. They've helped us validate and test ideas and features. And now we are looking for new opportunities.
What are some of your most successful partnerships that helped shape your product and grow? Looking to pick your brains. 🧠

Reduce your workload. Do you have a not-to-do list for 2021?
If you don't, that should be your goal for the new years.
I'm having my first baby (boy) in January 2021.
One of my teammates told me that if I continue the current path of "hustle until my head hurts" in 2021, I might not be able to see my baby grow up. I'm not old, but with the passing of Tony Hsieh, his advice felt more real than ever before.
So, I've been spending a lot of time in...

Hey Mitch.
For eCommerce, it's hard to break pricing and super fast deliveries. But I wish I could trust the reviews more. If the reviews are transparent and believable, with a solid return policies in place, I wouldn't mind paying an extra dollar once in a while.
Lastly, I normally shop specific products off Amazon, rather than commodities. So niche offerings with niche experience could...
What would be the aha! factor in a product that gets you to convert away from Amazon?

It's totally possible, but the scale is different. If you have a business idea that's validated and don't mind growing slowly overtime, then angels sometimes invest in you.
But the following is a must.
- Get minimum traction and revenue by yourself
If you don't really care about becoming a unicorn, it's not impossible.

What do you do when you have a new exciting idea, but can't work on it right away?
I'm sure this happens a lot to many of us. Even though I'm super passionate about what I'm doing right now, as it's our second nature as entrepreneurs, shiny new ideas pop up in the brain too often.
I tend to write them down in my "write once and never see it for 6 months" list and forget about it.

That's an excellent idea. It's something we don't preach enough! I don't think there's a perfect co-founder relationship so the demand is there. It'll be fun to figure out the exact use case from the interviews!

As founders and makers, do you take care of your mental health?
I control every 1 hr of my day to maximize productivity.
Wake up at 5:30, meditate, work, learn programming, work some more, write a novel, and run a family with 1 kid coming. You could say I'm hyper productive, but I know many of you have a lot more on your plate.
As founders and makers, what do you do to make sure your sanity is kept in check?

Hi Daniil,
The biggest pain point with remote work is the lack of total count of remote work and its distribution.
Plenty of work can be found in the Bay Area, but not so much in others. Of course, this is correlated to the number of tech jobs, but I also believe that culture has a strong influence on this.
In South Korea, we still frowned upon remote work. Hoping that this would change...
Remote jobs how do you find that? 🐥
