What's more stressful: Launching on PH or posting on a big subreddit with strict policies?
Hi Product Hunt fam,
Just launched our pre-beta casually with no expectations. After launching on PH, I was about post on Reddit. But felt this huge mental block that's still preventing me from posting. Literally feels more stressful than doing PH.

How much time do you spend on the actual product?
I haven't met a founder that spends most of their time on product after the early stage. One of my friends running a VC backed startup said her time is divided like below.
60% - Writing emails 📧
30% - Raising money 💸
5% - Giving feedback to his team 🙌
5% - Thinking about the product and high level strategy 🤔

If there was no internet, what kind of startup would you start?
While hacking away some code, this got me thiking. If internet never came to be, what kind of startup would I start? I'm a pretty successful fiction author, so maybe I'll go into publishing with a subscription model that sends a serial every week by physical mail.

What's your definition of a non-technical founder?
When someone asks me, "Are you a technical founder?" I don't have a great answer.
First, I have a degree in humanities, not CS. I've self-taught code to be able to manage products and work with developers. I also design low to mid-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, while driving growth with marketers to hit those business metrics.

Hey @dmitry_kalinchenko,
We got around 1600 first time customers for free on the day of the launch.
Method
1. Engaged in online communities that needed our product well before launch
2. Collected emails without spamming
3. Updated potential users consistently
4. Converted them on launch.
In my opinion, the biggest issue is always "retention", not acquisition.

Do you have that one "legacy product" that refuses to get replaced?
I was using Excel to list up our LearnTech service's new partner, and I thought, "wow, I can't believe I'm still using Excel." I've tried using tools like Notion and still does, but at the end of the day, I come back to excel and notes app on Mac. It's weird. Thousands of startups start every day, trying to replace those old incumbents. But some just never die.

What is your best priority methods for new / old features?
As a leader, prioritizing features are always an art. When I think we have a solid priority system nailed down, in different situations different context and perspective are required. The most difficult is when we need to speed up, but that could end up as a mediocre feature that might not be our best work.
