Hello peeps, thanks @aaronoleary for the thread!
With the current situation, I find it harder than ever to close deals and have meaningful meetings with people. Most of it comes from the non-verbal cues that aren't transmitted over the phone, or barely on Zoom or Hangout. Also, a lot is usually achieved during the smalltalk at the beginning and at the end, but we don't have that anymore....

I think this whole attitude of crunching and "if you don't work 70h a week you're just lazy" is really promoting a unhealthy behaviour. Note that the question is what you prefer doing, so 100% relaxing, even though sometimes I have to work, but I'm not happy about it.
What do you prefer doing on your weekends?

What kind of landing page is the most effective on you?
For now we only have the first one but I have the feeling the second one would be the best. Animated video for explaining how it works seems a good idea but I don't know how willing people are to watch it and if they don't, I guess it's worse than static info.

What software/service are you using for short animated videos that go on your landing page?
So far, I've only found subscription-based services. Given that I just want to make a single video, that's a bit too much.

I think the people willing to give their financial details to Facebook need to seriously remember the Brexit vote and the US elections. There is an interesting videos on Netflix about Cambridge Analytica, all the situations they meddled with and how Facebook at the same time compliant and the best vector for it.
Facebook Pay launched yesterday. Will you use it to pay for things or send payments to friends?

99% electronic music. I really like listening to the live sets after each Tomorrow Land, UMF and akin. I'm more of a Tchami, Don Diablo or Paul Kalkbrenner type of guy though.
What kind of music do you listen to while you work?

I can't remember doing that. But I feel like it's more an Android issue because on iPhone, if I don't want an app to use the contacts, I just don't grant it access to them. There's no blanket agreement like on the Play Store. But maybe there are some examples I don't know about.
Have you ever deleted an app due to privacy concerns?

Apart from sleep that has been mentioned numerous times and that's obvious, I find myself at the peak of energy when my motivation is in the same place. So, whenever I feel unmotivated, I just switch to something new, like from code to SysOps then to a bit of research and so I keep things moving like that. Also, being French, good food is of the uttermost importance to keep this motivation high.
How do you makers keep your energy levels up?

Quite the contrary, I think it's great. I hope people will be afraid of being deceived and will learn how to cross-check facts and be more critical. It's better to wake people up for prevention than when an actual automatically generated fake-news media would have made its way into people's habits. It would be interesting if well-established news websites played the game and published some of...

What about DigitalOcean? I wanted to use Docker Swarm for scaling up so I went the VPS road instead of multiplying the services for DB, logging, hosting, etc. But maybe at some point went the routing part of lambdas will be a bit better (for now if I'm not mistaken, it's about having an express app in a lambda to do the routing, we've seen better lightweight functions), I'll go full serverless...

What domain for the demo would you like to see for a chatbot enhancer API?
So, we are making this API that any chatbot provider/user can call to give their bot the ability to argue and persuade. We want to build a compelling demo (obv.) that would be summed up with just a few successive calls (3-4 max). Each call is about querying the next argument or giving profile info.
What domain would be the most interesting for you to see if you were (or are ;) ) a chatbot...

Do you think it's pronounced "GIF or "JIF"?

I'm a EU citizen living in the UK. Brexit is a mix of this and Cambridge Analytica, so I think it's a great idea. Making people go the extra mile to reach information will hopefully make them think a bit more instead of being force-fed with it.
Yesterday Twitter announced they will stop all political advertising globally. What do you think?

I am quite perplex about the pricing system.
I guess this is not orientated towards actual scientists, is it? Because as an C.S. scientist I don't know why I would pay for stuff (LaTeX, R, Python, D3, Jupyter) that I can have for free. I mean, the whole put everything into the same document idea is good, I like it, but I can't see anybody using it for an actual paper. I would use it for the...
