Hayley: Your Thinking CompanionHayley: Your Thinking Companion
A voice companion for thinking out loud

About

hayley is a voice-first thinking companion that helps you make sense of what’s going on in your head. You speak for up to 60 seconds, no prompts, no structure, just raw thoughts. After each session, Hayley reflects back what you said in three layers: what you’re expressing, the underlying meaning, and patterns it’s noticing over time. It’s designed for the moments when journaling feels too slow, talking to others feels too complex, and thinking alone starts looping. Over time, Hayley builds a picture of how you think, especially under pressure, helping you notice recurring patterns, blind spots, and questions you keep circling but not fully asking. Not therapy. Not productivity. Just a clearer way to think out loud.

Local-first as a hard constraint: who else is fighting the cloud-default expectation?

Saw Hayley's stance on on-device transcription and patterns staying on the phone. We made the same call and it is harder than it looks once you say it out loud.
Minimi is an ambient memory layer for Claude. It captures what you see and what is said on calls, on your Mac, encrypted on-device. Keeping capture and storage local meant giving up some easy wins (cross-device sync, cheaper retrieval) in exchange for a promise we could actually stand behind.
Two things I am still wrestling with: retrieval quality without cloud-side processing, and how to explain local-first to people who assume cloud by default. How are you framing it?
We launched this week. If the local-first angle is your thing, I would genuinely like your read on it.

Android beta is open, looking for testers.

A lot of you have been asking. It's ready. If you're on Android and want to be one of the first to try Hayley, register here: hayleyapp.com/android

Would love to hear what it surfaces for you.`

The thought you keep circling, what is it usually about?

Building Hayley has meant reading a lot of research on how people process decisions out loud.

The patterns that come up most: a relationship that needs a conversation you keep avoiding. A business decision that's already made but won't stop reopening. A version of yourself you're not sure you're living up to.

Curious what it is for the people in this community. Not looking for details, just the category.
