It's a good strategy if done sparingly. There will always be lurkers who either 1. Loved your product that is priced out. 2. Are naturally deal hunters. If there are a lot of these in your pipeline, then deals will be hugely successful. From Reddit's explanation, the drive is cost and profitability driven. From the outside looking in, I am leaning toward giving them the slack as they are an unprofitable company that now needs to make decisions to turn things around. Free/cheap things are great but unless they are sustainable, we shouldn't expect them to be free/cheap forever.

It does sound crazy that Google will generate a business that generates $10M+ in revenue. But the fact is, this is a small amount compared to their other business units. Secondarily, there is a good chance anything that generates less than $100M for them is unprofitable by just considering how much they pay and the number of people that needs to focus on projects like these.

I've been using it mainly for two things; generating ideas for marketing copies, and generating ideas for strategies. I've been wanting to learn how to properly prompt it for SQL queries, but haven't had the time yet to study up.
