It happens to me too, but i think just because something already exists isnt necessarily a bad thing. On the contrary if tells you there is a market. By speaking to their current customers you could figure out what's currently lacking or maybe find a different approach you could take.
There are also newsletters for giving you inspiration (the Hustle for example)
Best of luck!

So agree with this. In particular one thing that really annoys me is when a website says 'contact us for a quote' arggghhhhhh!

For me it was when I realised that i was no longer so passionate about my role and coundnt really see any next roles that would solve that issue.
The way i did it was the expensive way, via an MBA, but i don't think you need that for most career changes. The better and cheaper way to do it is to start working on something in your spare time (whether it's blogging, coding, building a website...

Never used it personally but heard they take quite a large cut and it's difficult for new/smaller apps to benefit since it's mainly the older/larger ones that get most of traffic

Getting an accountability partner could be a great idea. Have never done it myself but have certainly considered it.
Basically it's another founder who you touch base with frequently to discuss progress and objectives (you act as a fake director for their company and vice versa).
You do the weekly/daily drumbeats together and it gives the impression you're not working alone.

I think most people don't get enough sleep. The book Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker absolutely change my understanding and thinking on it.
I used to sleep 7-8h thinking that was enough for me, the problem is that you cant tell how much sleep you need until you stop using an alarm. Setting a wake up time is like picking your car up from the mechanic before they've finished repairing. It may...

I really think that will destroy the culture of your company, installing a lack of trust. Employees will find out and may even leave because of this.
Also how would you define what is working properly vs not? Them being glued to their screens all the time and not talking to their colleagues will make it an unpleasant place to work, and limit exchange of ideas and help.
It's much fairer and...

Great advice. Thanks for sharing. It's what's called founder-market fit and I think many startups end up not having it, either because they start before figuring out what they want to really work on (over several years, not just a few months) or they pivot to follow market demand and end up working on something that they are less passionate about (but where there is real demand). It's...

The problem with video (and audio messages) is that it's impossible to skim read / just jump to a specific part. Without that it becomes impossible to manage all the inbound communication one has.
I think in some use cases that's not a problem but for others it is and therefore we'll always have some text communications
Do you think email will be replaced by video conversations like Marco Polo?
