Probably thinking too big and building the big vision first, instead of more focusing on testing of number hypothesis for best product-market-fit. So your frankenstein analogy actually applies to us somewhat. In our case, we became a community platform for so many use cases, that we ended up not being able to communicate it properly or execute upon the product. Now we're in the process of...

I love the concept, and the execution looks really slick. 2-3 years back I remember struggling with products claiming some degree of drag-and-drop in building websites, but ultimately shying away from the big bold claim without disclaimers, that you guys are actually delivering. Everything felt clumsy and inhibited. This looks way more polished and powerful, so huge props for the execution and...

Definitely for decentralised architecture!
I'd also bet on:
- mental health preservation,
- social reconstruction tools (trust building etc)
- grass root community building (to prevent societal chaos)
- tools against loneliness and for mutual accountability
I'm a big believer in human ingenuity so I'm totally shorting the "dystopian nightmare, eternal war / pandemic" scenarios, so eagerly...

Do you think natural language AI will collectively make us smarter, dumber or.. (see poll)
Natural language AI can be a blessing for some and a curse for others, depending on the context. For example, if it does my homework, I become dumber and more lazy. If it helps my scientific research, it might save me time and lead to better results. Another thing is the asymmetry of access to the AI tools - those in control of them might be tempted to use it in unethical ways. But what do you...

I visited Lisbon this year at the Web Summit, and had a chance to listen to Noam Chomsky reflecting on AI linguistic models and their use in actual reality. His main message was this: "God forbid humanity treats AI as a source of truth. If this happens, we're doomed, as the models are regenerative, statistical and don't actually understand anything they're talking about". It was a chilling...

When I wondered about your question, first thing I realised is that I actually have that hour, or more like two or three, which go by unnoticed, by doing dumb stuff, watching YT, wasting time on social media etc. So your question for me got transformed into: "What is it that I really want to do with my life, that is important enough to lay off small addictions that eat up time".
Anyone else...

Totally cool mission, I really like where the heart is in your product. Anything that helps people regain their footing in the lonely, siloed world is worth the hassle these days. I actually think that if we don't drastically engage with building more humane tech that helps people restore a sense of equilibrium, we are royally screwed as a specie, and it will all be self-inflicted.

Which new trends would you consider the most inspiring for next-gen social tech?
Hello :)
This is my first post here, so I wanted to say hi, and also pick your brains as to what trends/blogs/commentators you find most interesting in regards to the future of social technology. I'm especially looking for non-fatalist takes on the subject, possibly around human thriving and creativity, as opposed to alarmism, addiction, ad-tech, fighting misinformation and blah. In other...
