This kinetic sculpture uses a single nylon string bound between 2 motors to create standing waves. As the string spins, it is illuminated by LED lights to create beautiful displays of colors and shapes that are both mesmerizing and therapeutic to look at.

Hi all,
This is my second Kickstarter project which continues my design theme of using the Western Zodiac. In creating this, I take advantage of 3 main scientific principles: standing waves, the stroboscopic effect, and persistence of vision. I wrap it with an aesthetic design and artful story to create a product that can be used as a piece of home decor as well as instill curiosity,...

I meditate in an unconventional way, I take a walk around the office for maybe 20 minutes when I get stuck on a problem. My mind often wanders off to other topics and it helps me re-engage the problem once I'm done as I feel refreshed.
What do you think about meditation?

Yes, maybe add some other unique feature or reduce cost to differentiate it.

GIF is good, but take care of the filesize as it can balloon. Especially folks on mobile, those large GIFs won't fully load as they scroll through.
How important is a GIF vs a still image?

Feedback on products is always helpful. Even an app that allows for pre-launch feedback with some incentive for the reviewers ;)

Any solo makers who campaigned successfully on Kickstarter before?
Hi,
I'm currently in pre-launch for my second Kickstarter and wondering if there are any tips/advice that other similar makers can give me? My first Kickstarter was funded successfully without much pre-launch activities so I think it may have been a fluke.
My second campaign was actually launched a few weeks ago but I canceled it after a week as the funding trend didn't seem to suggest it...

I generally do alot of it myself. But there are some things like graphics design that I relegate to Fiverr.
How do you source design work?

Hi, I'm re-launching a kickstarter campaign for my kinetic art product which has roots in the Maker community. The pre-launch page is here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/northerncircuitsinc/pisces-kinetic-art-lamp?ref=dxqwti&token=4332bba3
I previously ran another kickstarter which funded successfully and hoping that I can attract alot of return backers.
Cheers,
Stephen

I am preparing for my product launch on Kickstarter, a kinetic art lamp inspired by standing waves. It's actually a relaunch as I felt I did not polish it the first time enough.
Makers, what are you working on this week? (w/c August 19)

This is one of the best (if not the best) data visualization libraries out there. I tried to post this but it said duplicate. Weird as I couldn't actually search for it on the site... I think ProductHunt has some kind of filter that only displays products through its search from high rated Hunters/Makers...
