Today, we’re launching new, new, new TechCrunch to about 10 percent of our readers. If you’re in that group, you’re going to see a very, very 1.0 version of our new site that we’re going to build on over the next few years to deliver what we hope is an experience that aligns perfectly with what we cover as well as how we cover it.

There is no whitespace around a Frontback photo, absolutely no chrome. The photo itself doesn’t have any filter. It’s just two square-ish photos on top of each other, filling up the entire screen of your iPhone. It’s all about immersing yourself and putting yourself in your friends’ shoes.

Overall, it is one of the best user interfaces I’ve ever seen in a mobile app. Sunrise is clean yet easy to understand, efficient yet full of “ah-ha” moments.

This is slightly better, but I still believe in things that don't scale when it comes to press coverage. http://paulgraham.com/ds.html

Slingshot isn’t overly complicated, you just have to learn how to use it, like when you launched Snapchat or Taptalk for the first time. Yet, Slingshot will probably fail because it's like Snapchat but 1) you have to re-learn how to use it, 2) your friends don't use it. There is no reward.
