Hello again Product Hunters,
We are back with a brand new version of Keypup, the workflow streamlining tool for developers.
First, we’d like to thank all the beta users from the first launch who gave us plenty of great feedback to improve Keypup further. Our platform and community keep growing thanks to your help and we are a few thousand developers strong now!
So what’s new with this...

Conversation is always a very good way to identify if your product is really useful or a 'nice to have'. It also helps you identify frictions (at every level: on-boarding, usage etc.).
When an actual conversation is not possible, you have to be a KPI-freak. Measure everything: click rates, bounces, interactions, pauses. You should also measure behaviour (I recommend Hotjar for this - it...

We found each other at Uni. Friendship first. Then colleagues in the same company. Then co-founders. It's been 13 years all in all, and getting better by the day.
In the end, I believe it comes down to mutual trust and respect, lots of tolerance and understanding, and a capacity to laugh it off when pressure builds up.
I think you're right trying to go for "the jackpot", even if it takes...

Yeay or Nay? Saying "We are the next Facebook"
Just wanted to share some thoughts and get some views from you folks on the topic of "Founders ambitions".
Wearing two hats here: one as a founder, the other as an investor.
The topic is: how much ambition should founders display in the early stages - in other words, should we say we are the next Facebook?
A lot of us will have been torn by this question. In the early stages of a venture,...

Agree with @david_cheal - build Security from the start and at the core - not as an "add-on".
Generally speaking, look for edge cases. When it comes to security, they are your killer.
@andrey_mi also has an excellent point: if you're happy with what you have in terms of security, then you are vulnerable.
Run regular pen testing.
And add a note in your "Security" website section...

I read the news. A thorough reading of various outlets (general, economy-focused and tech) to see what's going on in the World that could: influence and/or impact and/or fuel and/or help with what we are doing.
Then quick priorities review.
Then onto doing some proper work.

I tend to totally agree with @nazim_m - it's all about passion. When you love, time doesn't matter ;)
On my side, first startup took 8 months from "idea" to MVP. From there, 4 more years to global group and IPO on London Exchange. Total "idea" to exit: 5 years. First meaningful revenue (circa $1.5 m annual) end of Year 1.
Personal time: about 18hrs a day, every day.... And it was by sheer...

Hello. We've created keypup.io pretty much to help with this. In case you want to have a look, I'd be more than happy to get your feedback (good, bad and ugly) - and see if it can be of any assistance in your situation.

Traction is here. Raise funds or keep growing organically? That's the question...
Hello all,
Throughout the years, I've been privileged with creating startups that worked and exited and also to support fellow entrepreneurs through various circumstances.
One of the big question that arises systematically at some point is: "My startup is starting to get traction (users and/or revenue) - should I raise investors money to accelerate?".
Because it's a fair question, and...

With a bit of experience now, I'd say my biggest concern is always the step after next.
Usually we founders have a vision, and a short/medium/long term plan to execute to make it happen.
Usually as well, the current steps and the immediate next one are handled - not saying they aren't some sleepless nights about them, but at least we are aware of potential issues and one way or another...

On top of Reddit and Indiehackers, you might want to try Hackernews. Just keep in mind it's quite a fierce platform - plenty of excellent stuff, but a very sharp crowd that does not forgive anything considered as 'spammy'.
Can give your project excellent visibility though.

Definitely yes providing product is mature enough, and there is a solid framework around the outsourcing (e.g. outsource level 0, keep levels 1 and 2 in-house, have a script ran and tested for Level 0 staff, conduct masked testing, run trainings at least twice a year, run satisfaction surveys with customers, have crystal-clear conditions for elevations to L1 and L2 and last but not least very...

Given you can make amazing encounters pretty much everywhere, I don't see why one wouldn't be able to find a co-founder on PH.
I would though think it's just a mere intro. Being co-founders is much more than a simple "association". We all know creating startups is an eventful ride, full of ups and downs. The founding team is the cornerstone of the journey and needs to be rock-solid, capable...

Did you look at https://www.indiehackers.com/ ? Plenty of solo entrepreneurs on there.

Broad question because "company" includes very large down to early stage startups.
Regardless, a company should have a policy regarding equity and team members regardless of its size, and stick with it.
Things get nasty when exceptions are made that are not justifiable.
What's been your experience...when you ask if the company will offer some form of equity, do they...

If you already have customers, seeing how they use your product is key to understand the blockers, usage patterns, and hence new features that would provide increased value whilst remaining consistent with your overall offering.
Ideally, you do that F2F or via an actual discussion.
If not possible, or too difficult to manage, you can use tools like Hotjar to record your users interactions...

Listen to your own pain points. Listen to the ones of people you trust in their trade/life and to pain points presented by influencers/leaders.
Most importantly - dig into what you have a passion for. If it's cakes, then dig as far as you can in that industry, and everything related to it. To build a great business you will need first and foremost an absolute passion for what you are...
