To start I would find and connect with key people, then ask or see what communities they are a part of, maybe even get an introduction.

I usually try and build an email list or community, and work on ones which gather the most momentum. Some have had a long delay, such as articles starting to convert for keywords, which provides motivation to work on it again. Sometimes after whipping up a landing page, I might decide it’s not such a good idea - which is a quicker way of moving on than thinking about it for weeks.
How do you decide which side projects to pursue, and which to let go of? 🤔

The Sharetribe podcast has been one of my favourites. Marketplace tech is one of my interests, has some interesting case studies and practical tips for overcoming some of the hurdles in starting marketplaces.

Ive seen plenty of startups use Discord or Slack. Ghost.io and Substack are great if you are also publishing/writing insights. Circle.so is good for your own forum or a simple Buddypress/Wordpress equivalent.
Depending on the type of people you want to join your community, I would utilise free platforms, social media groups where they are, utilise customers to an email list/forum/invite to...

Feels like a clear copycat move from Meta, probably something they have thought about, but no one wanted to experiment such a change until Twitter did. I wouldn't - I don't think it adds any value - they seem to try and monetise features that you would want anyway from the platform - i.e. security from impersonation.

Notion is just so easy to move notes around, and organise all the projects and frameworks needed as well as a continuous flow of ideas. Todoist helps get those projects done. Canva or Adobe can take care of all the design needs - plenty of free tools out there as well.
