Hi all,
Once 37signals released their new deployment tool Kamal, I was intrigued. It fits well with my 'keep it simple' deployment philosophy. I slowly adopted the tool and today I deploy all new projects with Kamal.
However, I have seen people giving it a go and giving up, because the initial documentation was not enough. So I sat down for a few weeks and wrote Kamal Handbook, the missing...

Hello everyone,
Today I solved a problem I had since trying to make first Open Graph image. And certainly since Twitter/X shut down their very own card validator.
Maybe it happened to you as well.
1. You created an OG image but wasn't sure how it will look like when posted on social media.
2. You posted a tweet and the image was cropped in some weird way ruining your announcement.
3. You...

Hi there, author here.
Deployment from Scratch is a book on web application deployment that I was writing for over 3 years.
After 500+ pages you'll be able to:
- understand SSH and networking
- deploy static sites, proxies, and load balancers with NGINX
- renew SSL certificates with Letβs Encrypt
- install language runtimes like Ruby and Python
- configure application servers like Puma and...

Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It might be interesting to you. I wrote a review with some of the lessons https://nts.strzibny.name/learning-negotiation-never-split-the-difference/
The main things to understand is that compromise is bad and your best leverage is knowing the unknowns.

I am working on an update for https://deploymentfromscratch.com. More specifically, I am doing an overhaul of the Bash scripts and improving them at the same time.
For example, I added an option to use a mounted volume for the stand-alone PostgreSQL cluster. Tomorrow, I will start to rewrite the Rails demo in the similar fashion.
What are you working on this weekend?

I think it's a good thing for users to be able to choose a one more Heroku alternative. I am DO user, love their UI. If you are more of a do-it-yourself or save-costs-on-sideproject kind of person, drop me a line, I am still looking for beta readers of https://deploymentfromscratch.com/. Sometimes your deployment can be just 200 lines of Bash.

Love the landing page design Monica! You got me interested :). I have an important question though, do you track your email subscribers (like open rates, clicks, etc.)? I am more privacy oriented and I find this information is missing on the page.
