I'm a pre-launch, first-time Maker.
In my modest experience, the best advice I can offer you is to remind yourself hourly, daily, weekly (however often you need to before it sticks) that you must 100%, unequivocally, without a shred of hesitation believe in what you're making. You are the champion of your product, its life...

🐣 Scenario: You've finished building your product (well 90%), you've validated the market, you've got online space, sales/marketing cylinders ready to fire, users can achieve value from the solution as it stands today. But you need funding for the last 10% and further growth.

Live in your customers world for some time. Understand their pain points, what they like and where they want to be. Capture your findings in a simple document or add it to a PM board - like Trello. Refer to your findings whenever you think about Sales or Product Dev.

If we're sticking to the 3-points trend:
1. Publish an original idea/topic.
2. Care about the content you publish.
3. Learn about how Keywords work.
As you've said, there are of course many more factors at play, but broadly speaking, I've found that these three are critical for relative success.
By staying true to these points, I got to the first page on Google in about 3 months.

This is not product specific, rather usage specific. My list so far:
- Customer Support/Success (Intercom etc)
- Marketing (Mailchimp, Active Campaign etc)
- Subscription Management (Chargify etc)
- Payment Gateway (Fast Spring etc)
- (MAYBE) a CRM (Hubspot, Active Campaign etc)
Am I on the right track? Too much? Too little?

Great discussion topic, followed up with some super answers.
I would've thought grass roots promotion is prudent in the early stages of the product lifecycle i.e. pulling up your sleeves and really mixing it up with the individuals (or businesses) that you've earmarked as early adopters.
The easiest way of doing this is by simply jumping into any one of your socials and joining the groups...
