While I am absolutely amazed and beyond grateful that two of my books are in this list, I want to point out just how few "self-help fluff" gets recommended by founders who built successful businesses. One could argue at length —and many on Hacker News have done this— that there is a lot of survivorship bias in such recommendations, but that's kind of what we're looking for when it comes to advice. Most successful founders understand that there is a huge luck component to their success, but it never hurts to draw from the same foundational knowledge that they have. No two journeys are alike, but the pivotal decisions often rhyme. And to stress this metaphor just a bit more, books are the poetry collections from which you can derive the verses that work for you. I definitely recommend reading the interviews linked in the article. They make it clear why the recommendations were made, and are incredibly insightful.
