How much time do team leaders or project managers spend on follow-ups for daily or weekly tasks?

Hi Makers 👋! I have started this discussion to know your opinion on regular task follow-ups with the team members. I have learnt managers struggling with keeping track of daily tasks and often shuffling through multiple tools for the same.
How often do you think task follow-ups are useful! 
Also please mention any task management tool that you like.

Maybe in a team size of 5 or more people working on time bound tasks needs regular follow-ups. Our team mostly uses daily stand-ups for task updates.

@karnamit2105 nope we are very autonomous and mostly use trello, Slack and zoom for weekly meetings
