How much UX research do you wish you could do?

Have you seen the 1:10:100 rule (research : redesign : redevelop)? The rule states that it costs $1 to prevent a problem, $10 to correct a problem, and $100 to recover from a failure. Think of it this way, $10,000 in redevelopment cost could have prevented by spending $100. Or $10,000 spent on research saves $1,000,000 on re-engineering.
