5 reasons why you should communicate Asynchronously ⏰

As organisations around the world are finding more effective ways for their teams to collaborate with each other, Async work is winning a lot of hearts β€” and for good reasons. Here are some of the benefits I have seen that come when you communicate Asynchronously: (1/5) πŸ˜‡ It allows for more flexibility in terms of when you can communicate with others. You do NOT need to be available at the same time, you can communicate when it is convenient for you, rather than having to coordinate their schedules to be available at the same time. (2/5) βŒ›οΈ It allows for more efficient communication. You do NOT need to wait for a response before continuing with other tasks, you can continue working on other things while you are waiting for a response. This can help to increase productivity and efficiency. (3/5) ✍️ It allows for more thorough communication. You do NOT need to communicate in real-time, you can take the time to think about your responses and provide more detailed and thought-out responses. This can lead to better understanding and more effective communication overall. (4/5) πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’Ό It allows for better communication in situations where people are in different time zones or have different work schedules. You don't need to be worried about finding a convenient time when you want to share something. (5/5) πŸ˜“ It can help to reduce stress and improve work-life balance. Because you do NOT need to be constantly available to communicate with each other, you can disconnect from work and have more control over your time, which can help to reduce stress and improve work-life balance. ❓What are your thoughts on Asynchronous Communication? Let's discuss❓

What are some of the best Async tools you've come across? 🧐 I used Yac and loved it!

@aaronoleary we are building a tool that focuses on async employee communication, if you are interested i could tell you more!

@aaronoleary there are plenty of Async tools out there. Here are some that come to my mind first (grouped by use-cases): Async video messaging: πŸ‘‰πŸ» Loom, Screen rec, Yac Discussion Forums: πŸ‘‰πŸ» Twist, Threads, Stackover for teams, Discourse And my own humble attempt at one http://roundup.co/ (It's got less features than some of the popular tools I shared but we are iterating much faster on feedbacks from our early adopters.πŸ•ΊπŸ» Also, it's in a free Beta atm, so give it a spin πŸ˜‡) Workplace chat (although there is an argument that chat can be synchronous too): πŸ‘‰πŸ» Slack, Discord, Teams, etc. White-boarding πŸ‘‰πŸ» Miro, Mural Project Management πŸ‘‰πŸ» Clickup, Asana, Airtable

@manas_sharma Thanks for this list!

@aaronoleary our app is focusing on increasing employee engagement with async practices instead of meetings - it includes various slack bots, written 1:1s, reporting based on employee profile fields that help to find things in common. We also aim to help get rid of all the different google sheets for employee data - we have a clean database with different viewing and editing permissions. There's more of course so if it sounds at all interesting we can organise a quick chat
