How do you decide which book to read?

There are too many book suggestions around. Bill Gates' tips, books that changed my life, books to help you succeed, etc. How do you behave in choosing a book? What do you pay attention to? (I usually buy 5 books and read 2-3 of them, and my mind is stuck with the books I haven't heard yet.) I guess I have FOMO about books :D
