Putting money on hold, will the idea of losing it make you working on the tasks you are toil to do ?

Working on an idea that came to my mind, I will love your thoughts about using your own money as motivation. Like putting some money on a jar, then denying yourself of earning it back, yet losing it, until the tasks your are struggling to do is not done.
