Do you read "Hidden Comments" in discussion threads?

When people ask Discussion questions, some of us spend a lot of time trying to help others out. Some questions don't have short answers, especially to new startups who need to know a lot of background. Traditional mentors especially, put a lot of time and effort into helping out and the comment just collapses. so it's unlikely to be read. This generally means it's a waste of my time interacting with it. Is there any point?
