A chrome extension to hide annoying elements of a webpage

So, yesterday I joined a live session in zoom. The chat was going crazy and it was very annoying. So I thought what if I can hide the chat element? I went into the developer console and made the display none for that chat element. Then, I thought what if a chrome extension can be built to hide temporarily annoying elements of a web page. I googled and checked, someone, has built something similar. Have you also come across this kind of problem?
