A good launch or simply luck ?!

Hello Product Hunt community 👋 Today, I launched my first product on Product Hunt, but unfortunately, my product did not appear on the "Featured" page, and as expected, the results were far below expectations. I contacted support to find out what the requirements were to be featured on the "Featured" page and received this response: "Every day, hundreds of new products are submitted to Product Hunt. Unfortunately, not everything can be featured on the homepage, which is the case with your post... there are many factors our algorithm takes into account for featured products and only a small percentage are on the homepage..." During this day, my product received about 65 upvotes and I got very good feedback from the community, but sadly, very few people reached the post. Today, I also discovered that even with upvotes and comments, the post doesn’t scale up, meaning once it’s not on the "Featured" page, it won’t be featured for the rest of the day. https://www.producthunt.com/post... I think it’s very unfair for a maker to develop and prepare a launch for months, especially for such a complex project, and then on the launch day, to be forgotten. Not wanting to be inappropriate, I noticed that other simpler projects with much less development work and only getting 10 or fewer upvotes throughout the day, and almost no public engagement, get featured all day. I believe the "Featured" mechanism should be fairer and should be a sum of upvotes, engagement, comments, utility, and complexity to be added to the featured page, and not depend on luck or whatever to appear on the main page. Therefore, unfortunately, I discovered that one of the biggest factors for a good launch is luck and not merit. Is anyone else feeling the same way?
