Simply type “AI” or “non-AI”. Will give us a pulse on the ratio of one vs another here on PH.

I think all companies will have AI features, just like all companies now have software teams

@nichochar eventually yeah there will be a lot more ai based features. I also believe the term AI won’t be as impactful as it is today. There will be AI fatigue. Just my opinion though

Hey Slim! This is such an interesting way to gauge the mix of AI and non-AI startups here on PH. As a product hunt master, I have to say that both AI and non-AI startups bring unique value to the table. The innovation and potential for impact in both categories are truly exciting. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out!

@felix_f_tao I was super curious too. I also feel there maybe be a few products that claim to be AI more so just for the buzz word. Will see how this shakes out in years to come and at what point you can claim to a full AI platform or a wrapper based AI provider

I believe, every product is one way or other going to be an AI product in coming years. It's like once the debate was about going offline vs online and now, almost every product has an online presence. But, again, since this is the beginning of a new era, lot of products are selling just on the name of AI to ride on the hype. Soon, the market will gradually mature and products which truly provide some value with the help of AI will come out as winners.
Non-AI. Except I use AI as an assistant.
AI4good :D
AI assisted = chat bot etc
AI core = the product doesn't work without AI at it's core.
Everyone is adding "AI" to their product but it's actually just genAI chatbot, because they feel it will support their fundraising efforts.
At times this may be true (depending on the investor) because of the massive AI hype....
...but VC's like Q1V are ONLY investing in AI4good - impact driven core AI built by under-represented demo's.
Example:
AI core HEALTHtech curing world hunger, led by 3 veteran founders.
Adding an assisted bot to a product doesn't make it an AI business.
Interesting, we have AI as a component of our Financial model builder and it's is pretty impressive (definitely a 'wow' moment) but our main offering was built using good UX first - user research, prototyping and testing first, please follow me for our launch at the end of the month, thanks!
non-AI :)
I believe that AI has become merely a marketing gimmick. Personally, I am tired of seeing "AI" prefixed to every product name. My product utilizes custom-trained neural networks, but this technical detail should be irrelevant to my customers. What truly counts is the quality of the outcome. In my view, mentioning AI in a product description implies that the product is unreliable, prone to 'hallucinations' (a term from AI), and cannot assure data privacy, especially since it is derived from ChatGPT.

@rulik_tech you make very valid call out! I agree that there will soon be AI fatigue and no one will care. It’s all about if the customer will get more value in exchange for the price they pay.
AI! We help podcasters generate hours of marketing content in minutes :) - Ques.ai.
I believe that even Non-AI startups are inevitably embracing AI features to power up their Value Propositioning.

@michael_gammon hey Michael, but are you specifically using AI as part of your name or domain, or the feature is just that a feature but not the code solution? Also connect with me on linked in and I’ll gladly support your launch
