My team and yesterday launched morgen, the time management hub for your work, life, and hustle. We got to product of the day with ~1000 upvotes, BUT, we also scored a massive amount of feedback and downloads. Here's the launch: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/morgen Ask me and my team anything, and we will be happy to share all we can!

Congrats Team Morgen! 🤩

Congrats again, great product!! 1) How much time in advance did you plan your launch? 2) After setting a date, did you ever move/postpone it?
Brenna Donoghue
Thanks @phil_schwengel. Mid-July we picked our date and held steady. I wavered a bit on whether we should postpone it (especially since we were launching a redesigned homepage for the launch, which was ready at the 11th hour so hadn't been tested)... but I worried, if we pushed it out, we'd still feel not quite ready before the new date. We've been planning for about a month, and admittedly it was more work that I anticipated when we decided to do this. I now forget what my normal non-PH-focused job looks like! When is agreeto launching?
I am glad to support your launch. You did a fantastic job that day. Congratulations, and keep it up. Just following you for future updates and will be happy to help you again.

Congrats! Always happy to hear about truly successful launches. Did you guys utilize any other communities outside of Product Hunt to raise awareness about your launch ?

@andrew_bagby @brenna_donoghue Very manual but staying committed to it seems to work. Currently trying to allocate 15 minutes a day to do that. Thanks for the insight!
Brenna Donoghue
Hey @andrew_bagby - not really. We had plans to, but it never floated to the top of the list on actual launch day.😬 We focused most of our energy on Twitter and LinkedIn, but our plans to engage on reddit and in facebook groups never floated to the top. I've heard a lot of people who have had great success doing so though. If anyone had good experiences with specific communities, would love to hear it!

@andrew_bagby @brenna_donoghue What did you post to hype your following on Twitter and LinkdIn up?
Brenna Donoghue
@andrew_bagby @angeli_ We were really active on LinkedIn and Twitter all day. Most of what went on Twitter was fun and lighthearted... sharing funny comments people left on our PH launch page, RT other people who shared it... basically trying to make it a fun thing we were doing vs obsessed with getting votes.

i love what you have built - huge congrats!!!
Brian
Awesome work, congrats! Was there anything you did prelaunch to get attention / users? How did you validate your idea at the start?
David Tedaldi
@brian18 we have been holding back to launch on PH until we had a well tested product; we validated and built the product along with our growing community of users!

Glad to know it went well! Did you build a community before the launch? If so, how?
Brenna Donoghue
@angeli_ I've been really intentional about being active on product hunt for the last few months, taking part in discussions, and supporting other cool launches. We did a subscribe to our launch page thinking that would help us generate some buzz but I think we did a bad job... only about 50 people subscribed. We do have existing customers which did help - it was amazing to see how many exising customers saw our social content and went and commented on our launch page. I know not everyone has that luxury though.

@brenna_donoghue Me too! Currently trying to stay active. 50 people is pretty good I would say! Don't lose hope, they will come soon!
