As a learner, what do you look for in any course before purchasing it?

I try to scan the information that is available to find out if the course covers the fundamentals of the topic. I prefer courses where solid basics are provided before going into applications and hands on stuff. I think that if you truly want to learn something, you need to start with the fundamentals.
