Any advice on where to search for a technical co-founder? (YC match, job boards, any other ideas?)

Look also at offline events like hackathons. There are very strong developers at hackathons where you can find the CTO

If you don't have a tech co-founder and not planning to raise money or it wouldn't influence your investors' decision, I recommend hiring a tech lead first (possibly even outsource this role) for building an MVP, iterate until you find product-market fit, and once you're in a better position — bring someone in as a partner or a hired CTO.
Bringing someone you haven't worked with before on board since day 0 is often more likely to end up in a disaster.
Simply Google "Hire CTO" and you will have a handful of results/companies offering CTO services. However, do research for them deeply, look for their LinkedIn profile, check their portfolios, try to reach out to their past clients, the results of their past projects, etc.

You can try platforms like Founder2be or AngelList to find a technical co-founder. Good luck!
The best place I've seen so far is the Ycombinator co-founder match. It's more like a Tinder for co-founder matching

I've experienced a similar case but the idea of technical co-founder is changing with the developments in AI, it's important to keep that in mind.
Something I've learned is "co-founder" is not a title you should hand out even if they are the best developer, it is not for certain that 1) if they share the same vision 2) if they are passionate, driven, and determined as you are 3)** if they are really motivted to get to work and get their hands dirty or is they are just excited 4) if you share the same ideas of the team culture/dynamic/workflow you'd like to build 5) if you have similar long-term career plans and you are honest to each other about it
For me, I've breathed the concept day and night, dreamed about it; and there is a parallel universe in my brain of the future that we're building. Fall in love with the problem, it is said. I did long before when I first started struggling with it around a decade ago. If you'd like to connect, discuss, share our experiences I'm always happy to connect :)

Search on LinkedIn through key words: Tech University alumni, major in Computer Science, PhysicsTech interests, etc. Then DM with your vision and try to sell it, if its worth there should be at least 1 conversion interest out of 100.
