Can AI really help your sales?

I want to take a step back and breathing from all the AI conversations. I am an engineer not marketing. Due to my positions though I am mostly in the receiving end of sales, where vendors are selling their product to me. Most of the time I made the decision to buy was: 1. I know the product already from my own daily studies 2. I have a good relationship with the sales, they know my problems and they concentrate on what I need not some script player over and over. As AI gets popular, these days I see much more AI generated sales emails. Even the vendors I am interested in after the AI pitch I go for the competition that offer me more personalized conversation. I think if you make a personal approach as a small startup, you can compete with a giant that uses AI and sales scripts. What do you think? It is just me? Would you sell easily with AI? Would you be ok to get a generic message while making the buy decision?

AI can definitely help. I know of some tools that offer AI sales agents that are just as good as human sales reps

From my own experience, the most effective salespeople build relationships. They take the time to understand your business and focus on what you're looking for, not just recite a script. That's why, when I hear about AI in sales, I'm a bit skeptical. It can be useful for certain tasks, but it's no replacement for real human interaction. I've found that a personalized approach works best, which is why I trust companies like RevPilots, who specialize in connecting businesses with experienced sales talent. This article explains how they help find the right salespeople to fit your needs. Ultimately, AI might save time, but when it comes to sales, nothing beats a genuine connection.
