Day 3: After Launch on Product Hunt

As expected, interest in the page is zero. I can't say I'm upset. No, on the contrary, it's just a sign to me that I need to do better next time. But what raises questions is the principle of project moderation. I noticed that several upvotes on my project have disappeared. Why? I went to look into it and found out that the PH system removes suspicious upvotes. What? Really? Let's look at my situation. I asked my audience to support my project on Product Hunt. I'm sure most of them don't have a profile here. They signed up, backed my project, and left. And how will the moderation system evaluate this? According to the rules of the site, I can ask for support from my audience, which I did. But the platform itself wants only active members of the community to upvote for projects. And this raises questions! Additional stats after Day 3 of the launch on Product Hunt: – 0 comments; – 0 reviews; + 2 followers on my profile; + 6 followers on product profile; + 3 conversions to our website from Product Hunt. Good luck with your next launches 😉

@dima_isakov Now I totally see 61 upvotes, what are your latest thoughts post-launch? Did you notice new discrepancies?

Hey Dima, thanks for showing this stats. Honestly, I didn't know that this happens after the launch. Did you completely loose metrics by "annuling"? That's kinda suspicious.

@busmark_w_nika It was the first launch for me. I had no way of knowing about it. I just wonder why this happened. The metric hasn't been annulled. It just shows different numbers. My next launches: I won't be asking my audience to support the project on Product Hunt. It's not supported on this platform. You have to be sure to get on the Featured List. Don't get on, delete the launch and submit a new application. Or buy PH Promotion - the Product Hunt team supports it and talks about it openly 😁 And that's really the honest way!

I have read all the daily reports on what happened after your product was launched here. Thank you so much for that. You made many mistakes, according to the insights of past "Maker of the year" award winners. And to get featured your idea must be different, better or original than previously launched products, not just how you submit your product information the first time. Hoping for the best for our next launches!

@shahza1bmushtaq Yes, I agree! But I wasn't chasing the product of the day/week/year either. That wasn't the goal for me. We just wanted to showcase our project and create another link to our site to build credibility. We're 100% happy with the result. We got even more than we expected. But I'm sure we could have gotten a lot more support if we had bought promo on Product Hunt. And the funny thing is that the product would have remained unchanged and the idea would have been no different, no better, no more original. I'm only sharing this information to show newbies my experience that they may find useful. I haven't come across this kind of information before.

Hey Dima, hang in there! Launching on Product Hunt is like throwing a party—you send out invitations, but sometimes, people show up late or just lurk by the snacks. 🍕 You're totally right about the moderation quirks. PH tries to keep things fair, but yeah, it can feel a bit frustrating when your legit audience engagement gets flagged. Here’s a tip for next time: warm up your PH presence in advance. Comment on other launches, join discussions, and sprinkle some love around. That way, when your big day comes, you’ve got a community of active PH users backing you—not just newcomers. Also, don’t forget—your +2 profile followers, +6 product followers, and those sweet website conversions are wins! It’s not all about the upvotes. Each launch is a stepping stone, not a finish line. 🚀 If you ever want to brainstorm launch strategies, let’s chat! I’m juggling a few of those myself with pdftopdf.ai, and I’m happy to trade notes. 😊

@pdftopdf Thanks for the support 💙 I'm not upset, really. And you're right, this is our win. We'll still have chances to make things a little more right and better when we announce new important product updates.

The fact that you got conversions and followers is a win in itself! Even with zero comments or reviews, you’ve planted a seed. Next time, with better preparation, you'll likely see strogner results.

Appreciate the transparency! Very helpful re: setting reasonable expectations! I’m new here and thinking about launching soon to get some feedback on the concept and perhaps a few more beta users.

@karen_isbell That's great! Sounds like a plan! Be sure to start spreading the product review ASAP to get the PH community noticed.

Hey there! So, it's been three days since the launch on Product Hunt. The initial buzz is starting to settle down, but we're still seeing a steady stream of interest and feedback. We've been actively engaging with the community, answering questions, and addressing any issues that come up. It's been a great learning experience so far, and we're really grateful for all the support! What about you, how’s your launch going?
