As a product designer, I find aligning user goals with business objectives is truly the key to success. Iterative testing and user feedback help strike the right balance between a seamless experience and achieving monetization targets.
I invest a lot of time in communicating with key customers in reviewing latest feature launch to find out their pain points, and also getting on scheduled customer calls with Account Managers to follow their reviews.

Talking to customers is definitely the # 1 key.
My work is more on the website and commerce side of the things, but the concepts are same. We've built a UIUX suite and design system, and done a lot of research around this.
Apart from getting customer POVs, you must also look at the different reasons for which a user would use a specific part of the product.
When you don't consider them, the only thing left is to make it look nice. But that doesn't ensure business results.
Iterative testing and user feedback have been a game-changer for my team. We constantly seek input from our users to ensure that we are meeting their needs while also achieving our monetization goals. Additionally, regular communication with key customers and account managers has been invaluable in understanding pain points and making necessary adjustments. It's all about finding that sweet spot between user experience and monetization.
