How was the journey? Did the knowledge and experience you gained from your job help you in any way while building your company? If you were given the choice to start your company before the job, what would you do?

Yep, I've been working as a PMM 4+ years before I decided to take a break and start enjoying life.
Apparently turned into generating even more ideas and remembering my pains as a marketer. Building and launching products and features for other startups helped me with launching my own startup.

I left my full-time job 15 years ago. I wouldn't say my job helped me, except for motivating me to succeed so I wouldn't have to go back.
@marc_andre1 true, I've talked to founders who had to "unlearn" what they learnt at their jobs when starting their own company. most of them were made to work hard on projects that never got shipped.

Leaving my job to start my own company was a rollercoaster of challenges and triumphs, but the experience I gained in the industry was invaluable for navigating the startup world. If I had the chance, I would still choose to gain work experience first; it provided a solid foundation and network that have been crucial to my company's growth.
I dropped out of uni.

I started my company and started building for a little over a year before I decided to leave.
It's been very challenging, and absolutely NOTHING is perfect, but I wouldn't trade it back for anything.
