Do I NEED a co-founder?
I'm a non-tech founder, working with a team to develop the technology. Should I start looking for a technical co-founder?

Not necessarily. Solo founders can be just as successful. But having a co-founder can mean shared responsibilities, diverse skills, and moral support in tough times.
