Do we need to read a book or follow a checklist to launch a product on ProductHunt? 🤔

AFAIK launching a tool on ProductHunt is very easy. But are these checklists or growth hacks just a shortcut to get the product to the top? (they are taking guarantee, LOL). If your product is really good then people will like it and support you. I would say, YES the feedback from real users is good. But sometimes a good product doesn't get the place it should.

Product Hunt is very easy as long as you keep these 3 points close to you. 1. Don't put too much value on Product Hunt launches https://statsph.com/blogs/is-pro... 2. Spent only reasonable effort on preparing launch assets and raising awareness https://statsph.com/blogs/gettin... 3. Set realistic expectations for your launch results. https://statsph.com/blogs/realis...

It depend on what is your target for the launch. If you want to reach the top 5 you need to spend time reading best practices and preparing for the launch. Being in the top 5 will also require you to have some established an audience of at least 500 users to ask for support. If your goal is to be in the top 20 (products display about one click on show more) you can go for a no-frill launch: https://fabian-maume.medium.com/...

@fabian_maume I agree but I am asking why people are guaranteeing to be in top 5? "If you want to be in top 10 just buy the course and your product will be in the top 5" 😬 This is not a good thing for the Product Hunt platform.

I put this article together last week following the success of our PH campaign, you are more than welcome to give it a read and share it around with whoever 👉 https://medium.com/@thomas_24859...

/@thomas_24859 @thomas_filmer awesome really helpful tips. this process should be followed. But few people only want upvotes there, even they have some bugs in the tool but they are still getting "very good tool" comments there. 😀
Thomas Filmer
@ankitsharmaofficial I am a little confused on your reply WRT bugs and comments? Could you explain further please?
Ankit Sharma
@thomas_filmer Actually I have tested a few tools on producthunt before a few days ago, those tools have some issues (even makers confirmed it) like signup issues and tools were not working properly and few people are commenting "it is a good tool" ( they all are new users on producthunt).
Thomas Filmer
@ankitsharmaofficial yeah for sure, all tools bug regardless of how new or old they are. Take PH itself or Google, I experience them bugging often. And new products will have even more of a chance of bugging, anyway a cool tool doesn't mean it isnt bug free.
It depends. If you have not launched a product before or know much about how to launch effectively, then checking guidelines or reviews by those who have launched would be a great source to learn. Try reading success and failure stories on product hunt launches; you will learn a lot. And I believe you should use some hacks to increase awareness about your product. Suppose people do not know anything about your product, then how they will support you. And lastly, prepare your strategy around your product launch.

@qudsia_ali I totally agree with product awareness but what about those tactics where a founder just posts about a product hunt launch in 20 or 30+ places and asks for support without giving information or an intro. They just want upvotes, even their signup is not working properly and new people (who joined PH recently) are saying "very good tool" 😬😬😬
