I definitely believe luck plays a role sometimes! A lucky break or being in the right place at the right time can totally change your trajectory. Hard work and preparation matter a lot too though - luck favors the prepared as they say. But yeah, an extra dose of good fortune never hurts!

For example, I know two people who were offered jobs at the same startup, but had to move to another country. Person A said yes (and got stocks) and person B said no. Long story short, the startup did well and person A made a lot of money. Now person A is called lucky and person B is called unlucky. But both had the same "accident" happen to them, one person just exploited it. That's why I think luck is just the ability to exploit accidents. Everyone has some accident happen to them (a job offer, a lucky meeting, a random post go viral), but some people are really good at exploiting those.
