Hi All,
Would love to hear if you or did you have a mentor and if you did, was it helpful to get where you are?

I think it's very important to have a mentor/supervisor. Especially for juniors who join a company with 0 professional experience. I've seen many who get frustrated when they don't receive the help they need. I didn't have a mentor when I started my career.

Having a mentor is SUPER important in my opinion.
Mentor is supposed to be a person with experience in the field that you're interested in, so they'll know what to learn and what to avoid.
When you're a beginner, it's really hard to understand what to focus on. That's where mentor helps.
Plus, mentor might have a solid network and help getting into the field.

Having a mentor(s) or any experienced support network you can rely on (and that you don't directly report to) is such a valuable asset IMO.
For me, finding those people who could be mentors, unfortunately came later in my career than I would have liked in hindsight, because once I did find them it proved the old adage "you don't know what you don't know" to be 100% correct.
Just having another voice who you can bounce ideas against, can provide a different viewpoint on things or just question your thinking at different times (in a constructive way) goes a long way to making you a better whatever you are trying to be.
Mentors raise your confidence and problem-solving abilities.
