Do you feel that software product teams can easily work remotely?

The majority of product team (PMs, Designers, Marketers) job posts that I come across have started to ask prospective employees to strictly work from the office, even those startups that are young and work out of co-working spaces. Recruiters are rejecting anyone and everyone not willing to work from the office during the screening call itself.

Do you feel that it's necessary? Or do you think that remote work flexibility SHOULD be given?
