  • Do you have habits that only take 2 minutes?

Rule of thumb: 2 minutes only. To jump-start a habit that's easy to do in the beginning. Spend only 2 minutes on it. This is critical for a start. What habits did you do to start the momentum?

This is such a good question. There's that general 2 minute rule that if tidying up shoes, making bed, filing some papers, prepping left over food for the week can be done in less then 2 minutes you just need to get on with it without thinking. A great habit to get into basically doing any task without thinking twice even if low on energy. Launched 2 products today! Would love your support! @leojbarnett "Without thinking twice even if low on energy" I love that. I need to practice that too-

One habit I practice is taking two minutes each morning to write down my top priorities for the day.

@rubybryant555 Have you tried writing it down the night before? It could also save you a lot of time thinking in the morning.

Absolutely! I've been using the 2-minute rule from David Allen's "Getting Things Done". If a task takes 2 minutes or less, I do it immediately. It works wonders for email management and small house chores

You bet! One of my favorite 2-minute habits is a quick stretch every hour when working.

Definitely! I've adopted a quick 2-minute rule - if a task takes 2 minutes or less, I do it right away. It's great for dealing with small tasks and maintaining productivity. I also do a quick mindfulness exercise, just focusing on my breath for 2 minutes. Lastly, I do a 2-minute cleanup of my workspace at the end of the day. Small steps can lead to big productivity gains!

@jessjo_22 Agree! I started with 2 minutes of meditation before and I really struggled with focusing that time. But, now? 10-15 minutes of meditation is easy-peasy.

For me, a critical habit for starting is to check all the work done yesterday and jot everything down for today with stars as a priority. I have worked on an amazing free product recently! Would love your support! https://www.producthunt.com/prod...

A valuable habit to cultivate is the ability to approach any task without hesitation, even when low on energy.

@neha_joshi8 Hmmmm, I don't quite get that. After an hour of what?

"micro-cleaning" Instead of spending one long block of time on Saturday cleaning, I try to embrace individual places on a weekday. Much less painful (sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes a little bit longer) Also after @mariyam_bouhmadi, mindful breathing.

@mariyam_bouhmadi @w_j Great idea! I'll try cleaning a part of my room every day instead of cleaning it whole on the weekend. This should give me more time to spend my weekends on something else.

Yes. Drinking warm water, first thing in the morning. Takes 2 minutes and is highly beneficial for your health.

@divya14 Yes! A quick hack is to have your water ready beside your bed. This likely will help you drink water first thing in the morning. Been doing this with my water bottle and it really helps!

I wiggle my toes 😂 no seriously. Like snap into IRL for 2 min. acknowledge that im happy, in good shape, and living the dream. It's so easy to just get into a forever ride of internet, wants, and all the commotions of busy life. Then I think about something that makes me happy but I push away because I can solve XYZ instead. So I go on a bike ride and listen to Jamie XX for a bit. No purpose. Just the joy of movement and being alive. 😸

@sentry_co Did I wiggle my toes when I read that just to test it out — Really, 2 minutes of self-reflection does let us appreciate life.
