Do you have small features/tasks to assign to a junior developer?

It's no secret that juniors often have a hard time finding their first job without much experience beyond a few personal projects. So, I was wondering, would you be willing to assign small tasks to a junior so that they can earn income as freelancers and develop their coding portfolio?

Unfortunately we don't have the bandwidth to take care of juniors and I'm not sure if startups have the capacity to take proper care of them (we look for engineers above mid-level, so we can ship new features faster) But we're going to participate in Hacktoberfest next month, which is an annual event for software engineers to contribute to open-source projects. I think it's a pretty good occasion to gain some relevant experience if someone takes it seriously and offers to do more than the bare minimum, as they not only have a chance to code but also to code as part of a team, so it's as close to real life experience as it can be. We'll create first-time issues for less experienced engineers again like last year so if you have anyone who's interested in Golang, Docker / Kubernetes, send them our way and we'll see if it works out Check out what our contributors said last year about us: https://blog.dyrector.io/2022-11...

@geri_mate this is amazing! Is it open for anyone to participate worldwide? I would love to share this with my network!
